Day 1: Arrive Varanasi
Welcome to your “Chitrakoot & Shiva & Rama trail.” Our agent will meet you when you arrive at Varanasi Airport/Station. After checking into the hotel, proceed to the Ganges for a boat ride and the evening Ganga Aarti on the well-known Dashashwamedh Ghat (the major ghat in Varanasi on the Ganga River). It is arguably the most stunning ghat and is situated near the Vishwanath Temple. It is linked to two Hindu legends: One holds that Lord Brahma made it to greet Lord Shiva. Another tradition states that at the Dasa-Ashwamedha yajna conducted here, Lord Brahma offered ten horses as sacrifices. In Varanasi, spend the night. (The vehicle is only available for arrival at the airport, evening Ganga Aarti, and boating.)
Day2: in Varanasi
Temple darshan (Kashi Vishwanath, Annapurna Mandir, Kala Bhairov Mandir) in the morning, followed by Benaras Hindu University (BHU), Sankat Mochan Mandir, Durga Mandir, and Tulsi Manas Mandir. After breakfast, proceed to Sarnath, where Gautam Buddha gave his first speech to five followers after achieving enlightenment. Sarnath sightseeing includes the Sarnath Museum (where Samrat Ashoka’s national emblem was excavated from Sarnath and is on display), the ancient ruins, and the Mahabodhi Society Temple. The evening is free. In Varanasi, spend the night.
Day 3: Varanasi – Prayagraj (About 130 Km, 3 Hours, One Way)
Check out and travel to Prayagraj (Allahabad) following an early breakfast.
The city’s location at the Sangam (confluence) of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Sarasvati rivers is the source of its ancient name, Prayag, which means “place of offerings.”
A major figure in Hindu texts, it is the second-oldest city in India. When Allahabad was first established as their capital, the Kuru rulers of Hastinapur dubbed it Kaushambi, which is now a distinct district. Since then, Allahabad has served as the Doab region’s administrative, cultural, and political hub. The British changed it to Allahabad after the Mughal emperor Akbar dubbed it Ilahabad. Before its capital was relocated to Agra in 1835, it served as the seat of the Ceded and Conquered Provinces region in 1833. In 1858, Allahabad briefly served as the capital of India before becoming the capital of the North-Western Provinces. From 1902 to 1920, the city served as the capital of the United Provinces and continued to play a significant role in the fight for Indian independence. Get some rest in Allahabad.
Day 04: Allahabad-chitrakoot (About 120 Km, 3 Hours One Way)
Following breakfast, take a day journey to Chitrakoot, which is known as “the hills of many wonders” and is truly a gift from the gods and nature. A peaceful haven on the Vindhyas’ northern spur is Chitrakoot. One of India’s oldest sacred pilgrimage sites, Chitrakoot Dham is located 72 miles south-east of Banda district and 6 km south of Karvi on the way to Allahabad. According to legend, it was the home of Lord Rama and his spouse.
Eleven of their fourteen years of exile were spent with Sita and brother Lakshman. Additionally, it was here that they encountered Sati Anasuya and the sage Atri.The avatars of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh are said to have occurred in this place of worship. The epic “Shri Ramcharitmanas” author Goswami Tulsidas spent a significant portion of his life in Chitrakoot, which was blessed by the touch of the Lord’s foot. With countless temples and shrines scattered throughout, the beauty of nature is encased in quiet and peace, interrupted only by gurgling streams and singing birds. Check into the hotel again and spend the night in Allahabad.
Day 5: Allahabad to Varanasi (About 130 Km, 3 Hours One Way)
After breakfast, leave the hotel and make your way to Varanasi. In Varanasi, spend the night.
Day 06: Departure From Varanasi
Check out of the hotel after breakfast and head to the Varanasi airport for your next or return trip.
